We are pleased to announce that Lathom Park Trust is undertaking a new research-based project. Entitled ‘A Life In Service’ the project will focus on the staff of Lathom House over the period 1725-1925.
We will be researching the lives of the staff members, their families and their stories with a view to publishing the material in various formats over the coming years.
The trustees are already in the process of transcribing census records in order to identify potential research subjects and we are now looking to bring the project to a wider audience by offering our followers and members with an interest in the subject a chance to undertake research.
There will be many of you who have researched your own family tree and be familiar with the tools and processes involved, this is, of course, an advantage, but it is not necessary as there are a number of experienced researchers on board who will be available to help.
We are looking for those with access to Ancestry.co.uk, findmypast.com or the equivalent, as well as those people who would prefer to go to libraries and archives to research. Whatever your level of experience or interest we are sure to be able to find something interesting for you to undertake!
There is no minimum requirement in terms of time or amount of research and full guidance will be provided from the outset.
If you would like to get involved please email the secretary (info@lathomparktrust.org.uk) and the project leaders will get in touch to keep you informed of progress
